TERMS & CONDITIONS — Motion Health Osteopathy

These Terms & Conditions outline how we provide osteopathic services and what you agree to when booking an appointment.
1. Appointments
Duration & Appropriateness of Treatment
Appointments are scheduled to allow sufficient time for safe and effective assessment, treatment, or rehabilitation. Osteopathic treatment and any associated methods will only be carried out when the practitioner deems them clinically appropriate and safe based on the consultation.
If treatment is not considered suitable, we will explain the reasons and provide appropriate advice or referral options.
If osteopathic evaluation or treatment is deemed appropriate but you choose not to proceed, the practitioner may charge up to 50% of the appointment fee at their discretion.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to avoid impacting other clients, but the full appointment fee may still apply.
2. Cancellations
Client Cancellations
- Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice.
- Late cancellations or non-attendance may be charged at the full appointment fee.
Practitioner Cancellations
We reserve the right to cancel a treatment at any time if:
- The treatment space or environment is unsuitable,
- The practitioner becomes unwell,
- The client arrives intoxicated, inebriated, or otherwise unfit for treatment.
Where possible, we will rearrange the appointment to a new time and date within two weeks.
3. Inappropriate Behaviour
We have the right to terminate a session immediately if a client demonstrates inappropriate, aggressive, threatening, or sexual behaviour.
In these circumstances:

- The full appointment fee will be charged.
- If payment cannot be taken at the time, an invoice will be issued and must be paid within 7 days.
- We may refuse future treatment if behaviour breaches our professional boundaries.
4. Payment
Payment is due at the time of your appointment unless agreed otherwise.
Accepted payment methods: [cash/card/bank transfer].
5. Treatment & Consent
By attending your appointment, you consent to:
- Osteopathic assessment and treatment
- Your information being recorded as part of your clinical notes
You may withdraw consent at any time.
It is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete information about your health, medications, and medical history.
If you experience discomfort during treatment, you must inform the practitioner immediately.
6. Scope of Practice
We provide osteopathic assessment, treatment, and advice within UK regulatory guidelines.
We do not provide:
- Emergency medical care
- Diagnoses outside our professional competence
- Services requiring referral without appropriate justification
If necessary, we may recommend referral to another healthcare professional.
7. Liability
We hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance as required by the General Osteopathic Council.
We are not liable for:
- Failure to follow advice or aftercare guidance
- Issues arising from withholding or inaccurate medical information
- Loss or damage of personal property brought to the clinic
8. Online Consultations
Online appointments are offered for assessment, advice, and exercise guidance.
Hands-on treatment cannot be provided remotely.
Clients are responsible for ensuring:
- A safe environment for movement/exercise
- Access to a device with stable internet connection
- Accurate disclosure of symptoms and medical history
